EcoPoxy Putty

Andrew Smith - Friday, July 22, 2011

Ecopoxy Putty is an easy to use, 4-to-1 mix fairing compound formulated for very fast drying and high water resistance. Used to fill, fair or shape areas above and below water, Ecopoxy Putty fills holes and scratches in gelcoat, fiberglass, as well as aluminum, steel and wood surfaces. This solvent free filler will not shrink when drying and is ideal for gelcoat blister repairs.

At 77°F Ecopoxy Putty is very fast drying and can be sanded in 3-4 hours after application. It is the fastest drying 100% solids epoxy filler allowing the job to be finished sooner. It is particularly easy to sand if done before curing for 72 hours. It can be applied to 5/8" without sagging and can be applied to greater thicknesses when filling a hole or void without cracking. If you are looking for an easy to use, fast drying, highly water resistant epoxy filler for use above and below water line.

EcoPoxy Hardener

Ecopoxy CLEAR Hardener

Ecopoxy CLEAR Hardener® Is commonly used for fabrics that require a  clear, waterproof finish.  Our Clear epoxy hardener does not blush or cloud when used for coating, casting or wet layup. (2:1 mix ratio by volume) pot time  25-30 mins.

UVpoxy Clear

UVpoxy is a UV stable 100% Solid Epoxy Resin/Hardener System. It is a high performance two part system that is commonly used for Table Tops, Bars, Wood Finishes, See-Through Encapsulations, Art Work, Layup and other applications requiring a clear, strong, plastic coating specifically designed to resist yellowing caused by the sun and other Ultra Violet light sources. The Material has an easy to use 1 to 1 by volume mix ratio, wets out substrates well, maintains its integrity over sharp corners, it has excellent air release qualities, and a relatively fast set time for an epoxy coating which may be accelerated by mild heat to 160 F. pot time 25-30 mins.

Ecopoxy SLOW Hardener

Ecopoxy Slow Hardener® has a low-viscosity and is commonly used when needing long work and cure times. When mixed at a 2:1 mix ratio with Ecopoxy Resin it has a very high-strength, its waterproof and has a superior bond to a variety of materials including wood, fiberglass, metal, glass, tile, etc. Amber Color (2:1 mix ratio by volume) pot time 1.5-2.5 hours.

Ecopoxy MEDIUM Hardener

Ecopoxy Medium Hardener® is a 4:1 mix ratio, low viscosity, durable, hardener, it is our most common hardener used to wet out all types of fabrics.  it has very high strength and is very versatile.  Our medium hardener can be mixed at 3:1, 4:1 or 5:1 for different work times and wet out conditions, 4:1 is most commonly used. Straw amber color, pot time 25-20 mins.

Ecopoxy SET-FAST Hardener

Ecopoxy Set Fast Hardener® is most commonly used as an adhesive or in an injection box for pultrusion, it has a viscosity of approximately 400 cps, When mixed at a 2:1 mix ratio with Ecopoxy Resin it has a very high-strength, its waterproof and has a superior bond to a variety of materials including wood, fiberglass, metal, glass, tile, etc. Dark Amber Color (2:1 mix ratio by volume) pot time 2-3 minutes.

EcoPoxy Resin

EcoPoxy Chemistry

The resin we make is top of the vat. When we derive the resin, it comes out in 3 layers. The top is clear, the middle is yellow, and the bottom is brown. We then sell the yellow and brown layers to a broker, who sells the bottom of the vat resin layers to other epoxy companies.

Ecopoxy Resin® is clear and has a low-viscosity.  Ecopoxy hardeners can be mixed at a 2:1 -4:1 mix ratio for increased pot times and strengths. Our resins and hardeners when mixed are waterproof.

Ecopoxy Resin and hardeners have NO Toxic Organic Compounds or Heavy Metals and will soon be "Greenseal" approved. It is formulated without harsh solvents and will not shrink when cured. It is   ODORLESS and has a high flashpoint making it safer to work with than other resin systems. Ecopoxy Resin has a viscosity of approximately 600 centipoise (cp) at 77 F (25C).

Ecopoxy Resin  wets out and bonds to natural fibers, wood, fiberglass, fabrics, and other materials when mixed at the correct ratios with Ecopoxy hardeners. Our Fairing Compounds, Trowel Mixes and   adhesives can fill voids or holes and have great sand ability. Ecopoxy Resin products are easy flow out and self-level.   All common additives and fillers can be mixed with our products without a problem.Ecopoxy Resin with our hardeners are adaptable to prepreg, VTRM, Infusion, pultrussion etc.
